Baby Girl

Here are some updated pics of Baby Girl!

Baby Girl 2

“Baby Girl” was found by a community member who took her to the vet for her cut and broken foot.  This helpful person asked TBAR to help, and is now fostering Baby Girl as a TBAR dog until she is healed and ready to be adopted. TBAR would like to raise money to help pay her vet bill.  If you would like to help, you can click here to donate:

Success Stories: Luke

Luke has gone to his forever home!

Luke Success1

Here’s Luke and his new veterinarian Dad. Lucky Luke!

pet_3067_3

His foster mom had described him as:

“Luke is a sweetheart and a love! He is a Border Collie mix puppy who loves to play with his person, get cuddles and snuggles, watch TV, and play with the cats if they will let him! That’s right, not only is Luke dog and child friendly, he gets along with all the kitties in his foster home too! While he loves to play, he is very quiet and calm. Luke settles down quickly in the house, and loves to chew on his bully stick or work on his Kong. Luke warms up quickly, is very loving, and is a fast learner! He also has zero food aggression – you can take his food and treats away from him without issue! Luke comes potty trained and is working hard on kennel training.”  Thank you Alissa, for rescuing him and getting him ready for his forever home!

Success! Horseman’s Market Day

Horse event

True Blue Animal Rescue had a great turnout for the Horseman’s Market Day (The Horseman’s Flea Market) on Saturday, August 17, 2013 (sponsored by the Brazos Valley Driving and Riding Club) at 5827 Leonard Road in Bryan, Texas.  TBAR volunteers showed up with all sorts of horse-related items that had been donated throughout the year to be sold at this event for fundraising.

Horse event6

Our volunteers worked the event from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm, knowing that their time and efforts were raising money that would go directly to the care of TBAR animals.  Fundraising and donations go straight to vet bills, food, and shelter, and allow TBAR to say “yes” to the next abused or neglected animal that they receive a call to help.

Horse event2

TBAR members were thrilled to have made $1883 at the event!  This amount is equal to the cost of vet bills and feed for nearly a month at TBAR!  One of the reasons we were able to earn so much was because of a generous donation – a horse trailer!  We would like to thank all the people who donated items (big and small), all the volunteers that worked the event, and Moore Photography for volunteering their skills to document this event so we could share it with the rest of you!

Horse event7

If you are interested in helping, you can donate via PayPal, or e-mail us at [email protected] to donate items for our next market day, or sign up to volunteer!  In the upcoming year we will be rolling out a new volunteering program that will allow more members of the community to help TBAR animals!

Success Story: Sophie

Sophie New Home

Congrats on your new home, Sophie!

Her new home has this to say about her:

We have had Sophie since December 2012, and during this time she has become an integral part of our family. We renamed her Starr. So we have decided to adopt her ourselves. I can’t imagine her not being here with us. Running at the park with my husband and my two aussie boys, howling at us when she wants to play & that adorable sound she makes when she yawns… We love her!

We love it when TBAR dogs have such a happy ending!

Sophie Adopted

Sophie (pictured here on the left, with her new sibling) has been adopted by her foster family after six months!

Horse Success Stories: August 2013

Junebug

Junebug

Junebug came to TBAR as a result of an abuse case. Her companion did not survive, but Junebug fought to live. She is a sweet horse that deserves the love and tender care that her new home will give her for the rest of her life.  The scars on her body are evidence of her ‘life experiences’, but Junebug’s forever home can see her inner beauty and survivor’s Soul.

Success Story: Dora!

Dora
Dora finally found her forever home!  She owes a great deal of thanks to everyone who helped spread the word that her foster mom was relocating (and it would be best for her to go to a forever home, rather than get used to another foster home).  Her new forever home found her due to the networking efforts of TBAR fans!
Dora’s Story:
Dora was born around November 1, 2012.  She

and her 5 siblings were rescued from a trailer park in College Station, Texas. TBAR received a call that there were 5 two-week-old, starving kittens whose mother was not producing any milk and the people who were caring for them could not keep them. TBAR took the kitties in and provided them with a loving foster home while they awaited their forever homes. Gradually, the rest of the litter got adopted; all but Miss Dora. She went through much anticipation and false-alarms when it came to finding her home, despite the fact that she was a very loving and cuddly kitten whose favorite thing was to lay in a lap and be loved on.

Success Stories: Puppies!

This spring TBAR had many puppies up for adoption.  We were glad to see them find homes!

Sweetheart has adorable speckles and even a heat-shaped one on her shoulder!  She came into TBAR in the Spring and made her display with lots of other puppies at Brenham Market Days in May.  We are so glad that she found her forever home only 3 months later!

Donkey Adventure!

Donkey1Donkey Adventure

by Linda Taylor

Eve Peacock was just interested in a spotted miniature donkey.  Little did she know that her inquiry would lead her and her son on an animal rescue adventure.

In January of this year, True Blue Animal Rescue was called to assist the Sheriff on a seizure of 19 donkeys.  Eve and her son helped on the day of the seizure with the loading and transportation of the emaciated donkeys, all adults and youngsters ranging from very small to regular sized.  Yes, 19 Donkeys – they were placed in adoptive and foster homes after first going to the sale barn, as TBAR had “no room at the Inn” at the time, so to speak.

When they are healthy, donkeys are beautiful, velvety eared animals, with soft brown eyes.
They are God’s special creatures that are sweet, patient and strong.  This little herd of sweet donkeys included spotted ones, dark fuzzy brown ones, and dove grey ones with crosses on their backs.

Eve took home her spotted grey donkey and named her Jasmine.  She spent time bringing her back to health, and in the spring Jasmine had a healthy baby that they named Josie.

You can see in the photos, that this is truly a TBAR Happy Hooves story.

A Special Heartfelt “THANK YOU!” goes out to the haulers, loaders, fundraisers, fosters, and transportation helpers that were there that day.  We also want to thank all those VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE out there that help do what we ALL do… for Animal Rescue!
