Success Stories: Jewel

Jewel, aka Ebony, was born on September 12, 2013, along with her siblings: Winston, Buffy, and Piper. Jewel’s mother, Gracie, gave birth to the litter of 4 shortly after being rescued off the streets by a very kind soul. Jewel spent a few months growing and learning how to be a great little kitty with her foster mom, but she found her perfect forever home with her new fur-sibling, Jack.

Thank you to the Molder family for giving Jewel a loving home and spoiling her like she deserves!

TBAR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit no-kill animal rescue organization. If you would like to help animals such as this one please consider donating to TBAR, volunteering, fostering, or adopting. Every little bit helps us to help another animal in need of safety and rehabilitation. Save a life: adopt instead of shop and spay or neuter your pets!

Our Facebook Page Reaches 3000 Fans!

bannerlikethankyouTBAR has slowly been nearing the 3000th “Like” on Facebook, and with all of the help of our fans we were able to make that milestone today! In this past week we gained over 80 followers, and our post asking you all to share our page was seen by more than 2000 people!

For those of you that don’t know, Facebook does not show all of our posts to all of our fans, in fact, Facebook only shows posts to about 16% of page followers! That is why it is so important for us to receive your “likes”, Comments, and “shares” on posts we upload to the TBAR Facebook and RAIN pages. The more interaction a post gets the more Facebook will share it with others. That is why it is so OUTSTANDING that we reached so many people through your shares this week. We can’t THANK YOU all enough for being such great supporters!  The animals thank you as well!

Success Stories: Titan and Fire

Success Story Wednesday!

2013-10-16 Titan before and after
Last week we posted a photo of Titan and a link to our success story Flickr page and we were so happy to see Titan’s brother, Fire! Fire’s mom, Tamara, posted a few photos and we just had to share our favorite ones with all of you here!

Both of these beautiful cats went up for adoption when they were estimated to be 5-6 weeks old.  They came from a bad hording situation and were rescued by a neighbor that found the kittens while the adult cats were being removed.  This good neighbor bottle fed the kittens until they were old enough for adoption.

We love to see our rescued animals in their loving forever homes – it is what keeps all of the dedicated TBAR volunteers going!

Please upload YOUR success stories to our Flickr page

Success Story: Rosie!

rosie

Look who got adopted today! Rosie, the stray dog from the streets of Houston has a family of her own now! She has kids and a new Mom. A yard of her own and she’ll live inside! We are thrilled for Rose and her new family! What a great day!

Here is Rosie sleeping next to her baby brother when he fell asleep on her pillow.  She already knows to be gentle with the baby and she loves to play harder with the older kids!

Rosie was wandering Houston streets, trying to survive on whatever scraps she could find and becoming more and more uncomfortable and weak from a skin infection in the many cuts and scraps on her once lovely, angel white coat. She was living the life of abandoned dogs everywhere. Rosie sure needed an angel (though, she is one herself, as you’ll soon see). A kind woman stopped to help, and kept calling every no kill shelter and rescue she could google, until she got a yes. Luckily, True Blue Animal Rescue made room and took her into their rehabilitation program. Rosie amazed TBAR staff right from the get go. She stayed loving and happy, no matter what she had to go through to heal. She was ready to play and kiss and wiggle with delight, even though her poor body was just bones, sores and exhaustion. You’d never know all that, looking at her original pictures, but it is important because it tells what kind of dog Rosie will be in her forever home. Rosie is fun loving and so very gentle with other animals, little kids and everyone she meets. She’s a medium sized dog (40 lb.’s when grown) and a boxer/terrier mix. She is great in the house, on a leash and in the car.

If you are looking for your own angel dog please view our other friends waiting for their forever home.  You can call TBAR (936)878-2349 or email: [email protected]. The first step in adoption (or fostering) is to fill out an application.

If Rosie’s story has inspired you to support TBAR’s mission to help abused and neglected animals, please think about donating.  Every little bit helps us to help another poor animal!
