Stumpy Graduates School!

TBAR-Stumpy-Graduates-SchoolTrue Blue Animal Rescue’s adopted dog, Stumpy graduated from obedience training at 1st Step Dog Training’s obedience training. He also passed the Good Canine Citizen test so he could be a therapy reading dog at Alton Elementary in Brenham, TX. Thank you Alex Aldama for teaching Stumpy how to be a therapy dog! He spent his first day in school meeting the kids and letting them read to him. Stumpy can now, sit, lie down, stay and come. He doesn’t jump up anymore and he walks well on a leash. Check out 1st Step for all your pet training and grooming needs.

Pet of the Week: Parker

TBAR-Adoptable-Dog-ParkerPet of the Week! You said you were looking for a new family member? I have found the perfect pet for you this week. How about Parker? She wants to go home with you. She even comes with spay, up to date with vaccinations and is heartworm tested and uses a monthy to keep the heart worms away. Parker is a Rat Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She won’t take up too much room. And all she asks in return is to be loved and part of the family.

T-Bar has a lot of animals that are waiting for their forever home. If this pet of the week, is not the pet you are interested in, we probably have just about any pet you could want. T-BAR is a no-kill rescue. Not only do we like having our animals adopted out, we also are in dire need of foster homes. That way we can help more animals out there, who are in perilous times alone on the streets. Please save a life by adopting a pet, instead of buying a pet and please have all your pets spayed and neutered. It is the right thing to do. If you are interested on where you can help or to look at all that is available to either adopt or foster, please go towww.t-bar.org and see all the animals that deserve a second chance and fulfilled life full of love, email [email protected] or call (936)878-2349 and one of our volunteers will get back to you as soon as possible. Adoption Fee: Please email [email protected] for adoption fee! Adoption fee includes neuter or spay, up to date vaccinations, heartworm tested if old enough or started on heartworm prevention as a puppy, deworming and a one year TBAR membership.

Success Story: Paco

TBAR-Adopted-Dog-PacoPaco came to True Blue Animal Rescue after being picked up as a stray. He lived in a foster home for the last three months learning to live with and trust a family. When Juan saw him on the web site he knew it was the dog for him and that was confirmed when he came out to meet Paco. Hooray for Paco and Juan!

Read to Ride Kids Camp Sept 2015

TBAR-Read-to-Ride-Sept-2015

Students from Alton Elementary in Brenham, Texas that read 30 or more books over the summer got to go to True Blue Animal Rescue and learn about and ride horses along with going on a hay ride. Watching these children interact with our rescue horses brings joy to us all. The happy faces tell it all. Support True Blue Animal Rescue’s Animals Bridge Love and Education Camp by sponsoring a camp horse or donating toward the purchase of a picnic table to help provide enough seating for the kids. Success Story: Betty

TBAR-Adopted-Dog-BettyPoor Betty has been through a lot. She started out at a shelter in Wharton headed toward euthanasia when a foster home agreed to take her. They ended up moving and couldn’t take her with them so she went into a boarding kennel. Poor Betty is small dog aggressive making her harder to find a home for. We weren’t sure how things would end up for Betty when Baileys’ adopter, Melody, contacted us about fostering and possibly adopting if it works out. When she came to meet some of the other dogs Betty had just returned from boarding. She was skinny and sad but Melody decided to give her a chance anyway. Lucky Betty, Bailey and Melody!!

Stumpy Goes to School!

TBAR-Stumpy-Goes-to-SchoolToday was a big day for Stumpy! It was his first day of school. He’ll be going to First Step Training in Brenham for the next two weeks so he can earn his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification. Once he’s certified as a CGC he’ll be able to go to elementary schools so children can read to him. This wonderful program will help children become confident readers while learning compassion and empathy for animals! Stumpy will be True Blue Animal Rescue’s first CGC reading dog.

Success Story: Gracie

TBAR-Adopted-Dog-GracieRemember Gracie? She was the boxer mix that was pulled from BARC. She was balding, sad and miserable with no chance for survival till a kind hearted person pulled her and rehabilitated her through True Blue Animal Rescue. After her rehab she came to TBAR Ranch until her forever family found here. We received these pictures reminding us that it’s been one year since she was adopted! Thanks for the pictures Sherrie!
