Both are broke and it would seem that they have been seriously ridden in their earlier years because of the bridle marks across the nose of each. These horses are not pushy and tend to stay out of troubles way — like from larger horses. They have been ridden recently are not subject to bucking or acting up. Really, they are very sweet – probably Sirius is more apt to come to you before Cara but both are right there wanting attention. Would trust them with children. They stand very still for the farrier.

It took several hours of surgery to remove the embedded halter; and Liberty is healing up nicely. She will need a second surgery to look ‘normal’. The seizure photos are too horrific to show. Liberty could use your prayers and support. Update: April 2008: Liberty has healed up beautifully and is available for adoption.

He allows me to stand behind him and comb his tail. Of course he is handled several times a day with lots of brushing and petting. Update August: Loads well, leads, ties, loves baths, grooms, picks up his feet for cleaning. Has been sacked out with a plastic bag, very calm, lets the dogs eat with him.

They are both easy to handle and work with. Ginger was a a little underweight when she came to T-Bar, but has since put on weight and looks great. Geronimo has been ridden in the past, but has been out to pasture for awhile, so will need a refresher course. He requires an intermediate to experienced rider. At his current foster home he is in a herd of miniature horses and donkeys and gets along fine with them. He in fact acts like the daddy. He will wait to be put up until he is sure that all the little ones are snug and warm in their beds for the night. He has good ground manners, but you might have to remind him to pay attention to you. When he is in a new situation, he likes to look around before you can get his attention. He is laid back under halter, easy to catch if you do not show him the halter but run your hand up his neck with the rope. Once you put the rope around his neck, he will lower his head for the halter. Once he has been retrained or refreshed, he will make a great trail horse or anything his adopter would like to do with him. He is stocky, agile and beautiful. Showing the grace of his breed Granny, Sassy and the donkey Tonto were rescued together. Granny was extremely emaciated and was still nursing her 3 year old baby, Sassy. Granny is now healthy and at her ideal weight. She is ready for adoption. Izzy was a Texas A & M polo pony. She fractured her cannon bone and although she is healed and isn’t lame, she cannot be used for polo anymore. She’d make a great kids lead line or walk only horse. She’s well trained and very sweet. As you can see she’s very tall!

You can tell from her body that this poor girl has seen better times, but that hasn’t diminished her loving attitude and fun-loving spirit. Katie had a wonderful retirement and lots of love in her golden years. In the end, she was held in loving arms and peacefully crossed over.

Description: Betty’s story is all too common. She was found dumped on the back roads in Bryan – a skinny girl. Mistaken for a Pitt Bull, the Bryan shelter said she would be euthanized without a chance to find a loving home. After some desperate phone calls, Betty found a safe haven at True Blue Animal Rescue (TBAR). Betty seems to know how close she came to losing her life and is making up for it. She’s very sweet and loving. She gets along with other dogs, enjoys attention, comes when called and has a calm, sweet nature. Look at that sweet face and those big, soft eyes. Don’t they just call to you? She loves stuffed toys and will carry them around and sleep with them in her dog house. This beautiful, 5 yr old, yellow/tan and white Boxer mix is past the puppy stage of chewing, needing more time & energy. She’s happy being outside, but would be happy being inside with you and a dog companion. She’s ready and waiting to settle into a family of her own that will love her and keep her forever. Description: Max is a delightful mix of three terrific breeds all in one fabulous package, who will grow up to be about 50–60 lbs. of loyal & steadfast canine companionship. Eleven week-old Max is a shepherd/lab/golden mix with a striking coat of creams and browns, accented with a black mask and ears. Max was shy at first but thanks to his True Blue Animal Rescue (TBAR) foster mom, he has learned to be very trusting. He prances around the yard as if saying “Look at me!” Max loves to play; lying in the kiddie pool and rope tug of war are two of his favorite pastimes. A white coat with tan head & ears, and a white stripe down the middle of his face, gives him a most appealing look. Rudy is very sweet and loving, and is housebroken and crated trained. He would do very well as an only dog or with another small dog like him. (Big dogs make him nervous.) He’s shy when he first meets you but warms up quickly and delights is lots of lap-time and pets. In this case, Marshmellow and Captain were found and rescued by a member of True Blue Animal Rescue (TBAR) who has fostered and cared for them until they were ready for adoption.
