Newest Rescue: Chip

TrueBlueAnimalRescue_Chip_PitBull_Texas

Our newest rescue, Chip, is telling his story today! Thank you to everyone who stepped up to save him, and let’s share his story so we can get him a forever home soon!

Hi my name is Chip. My mom was sick. Sometimes she forgot to feed me.But I love her so much and always waged my tail when I saw her. But my mom left and went to heaven. I miss her very much. My brother went with her too. I think he was weaker than me and couldn’t make it without food. I miss him very much too. He was my other half.

When the police found me, there were discussions about putting my down. Thank God, my friend came over and saved me. She took me home, even though she could have gotten in a lot of trouble. She took me to the nice people at True Blue Animal Rescue as soon as she could get me a spot! I was a little nervous at first. But these people are really nice, and my food bowl is always full.

There are a lot of dogs here and I get a lot of playtime, but I really wish I had a home of my own again. Can you please share my picture and my story and find me someone to love again?

Pet of the Week: Gina

TrueBlueAnimalRescueFosterFeatureGina2How many of you love yellow labs? The Pet of the Week is that yellow Lab for you. You will not be able to resist her beautiful face. She is about a year old. Crate trained and house broken. Spayed and vaccinated. She’s very friendly, walks well on a leash, loves to play fetch and gets along with other dogs. Great with kids too. She was on her last days at the Brenham Shelter so we transferred her to K’s Mutt Hut to board till she found a home. Thanks to the Brenham Shelter for letting us know about her and to all the people who donated to pay for her board till she found a home. Sometimes it takes a village to save a dog.

T-BAR is a no-kill rescue. Not only do we like having our animals adopted out, we also are in dire need of foster homes. That way we can help more animals out there, who are in perilous times alone on the streets. Please save a life by adopting a pet, instead of buying a pet and please have all your pets spayed and neutered. It is the right thing to do. If you are interested on where you can help or to look at all that is available to either adopt or foster, please go to www.t-bar.org and see all the animals that deserve a second chance and fulfilled life full of love, email [email protected] or call (936)878-2349 and one of our volunteers will get back to you as soon as possible. Adoption Fee: Please email [email protected] for adoption fee! Adoption fee includes neuter or spay, up to date vaccinations, heartworm tested if old enough or started on heartworm prevention as a puppy, deworming and a one year TBAR membership.

Foster Feature: Gina

Today’s foster feature is Gina. She was next to be euthanized at the Brenham Shelter so the manager there asked if we could network her to find her a home. We sent out the picture of her in the kennel and although True Blue Animal Rescue foster homes are all full they came up with a plan to save this beautiful yellow lab. They contacted Kathryn Kwiatkowski of K’s Mutt Hut in Brenham and asked her to help. She offered a discounted boarding fee just to cover her care. Kathryn runs a wonderful boarding facility in Brenham, but she’s a rescuer through and through. She’s always rescuing animals and can’t look away when asked to help. The members of True Blue Animal Rescue chipped in to cover her board for several weeks. This will allow time to get her vetted and up for adoption.

If you or someone you know would like to adopt this sweet girl, please share or email us at [email protected]. Please help buy Gina another day by paying for a day of board. Go to t-bar.org and make a $10 paypal donation with a note to let us know it’s for Gina.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who donated enough to get her out of the shelter and a great big thank you to Kathryn of K’s Mutt Huthttps://www.facebook.com/kmutthut for taking care of her and giving her a chance!

Eddie is our Merry Christmas Throwback Thursday. Eddie came to True Blue Animal Rescue when he was one week old. He was bottle fed and cared for in a foster home and then adopted into a wonderful family. Here he is with his family for Christmas. He was bigger than what they were looking for but they gave him a chance anyway and he turned out to be perfect for their family.

With the help of Eddie and his new family we wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Success Story: Tina!

TrueBlueAnimalRescueTina TrueBlueAnimalRescueTina2

This weeks Success Story is Tina. and it’s a Christmas Blessing.

Tina’s New Mom sent this message:

Tina had a long talk with Santa this year.

She said she really wanted to stay in her foster home forever.

Santa couldn’t resist those eyes... and the snuggles every evening by the fire. So Santa said, “Come stay with me”.

Along with her BFF Jenny, who was also adopted from TBAR, her job will be to help Santa relax after a hard day’s work in the toy shop.

The second picture is Tina with her entire family. Her Dad plays Santa every weekend of Dec each year. Her Mom takes the pictures and all proceeds from their efforts go to True Blue Animal Rescue so more animals can be saved the following year. Her family is the Taylor Family and they are a blessing to rescue animals and especially to True Blue Animal Rescue!

Animal Adoption: Honey

Success Story Wednesday True Blue Animal Rescue Dog Adopted Honey

Success Story Wednesday!

Here is Honey, who has found her forever home! You can see her here showering her new mom with kisses. Any time her new mom left the car she would cry for her – she knew they belonged together!

Honey was a female dachshund mix who was rescued from a shelter by one of our TBAR volunteers. This sweet young puppy quickly earned the heart of her foster Mom’s own mother, who decided to adopt Honey! It is always a great treat when a rescued dog gets to stay in the family.

Hooray for Honey! Thanks Shellie for rescuing her!
