Baby’s First Halter
Look who learned that a halter won’t hurt you him week? He followed Mama into the stall and then got surprised when Colton and Whitney got a halter on him. He was giving to pressure by the end of the lesson. Love this cute little guy!
Senior Dogs: Laser and TBAR
The two oldest dogs at TBAR Ranch, Laser and TBAR. Laser was found with his litter mates in a bag on the side of the road. Rescuing him was part of the inspiration to start True Blue Animal Rescue. His litter mates found homes but we kept Laser. He’s the black and white dog in the front. He is smiling.
TBAR, the brindle hound behind him was our first rescue dog after we started True Blue Animal Rescue. He is a shy dog so he never did find a home. When he was younger he used to climb the fences and patrol the farm making him the perfect watch dog for the ranch. They’re both in their teens now and might not be with us too much longer. These two characters have enriched our lives for years.
Success Stories: Three pups!
These three pups have all been adopted thanks to a wonderful foster home’s networking. Animals get adopted from networking. Sometimes it’s our petfinder or our website, sometimes is facebook and sometimes the foster home finds them all homes. That was the case with these three lucky pups! Thanks Sarah for all your work making sure these pups are in good and loving homes! They were lucky to have had you on their side.
If you’d like to foster or adopt check out the animals that need homes and then email [email protected] to let us know.
Pet of the week: Remi
Our pet of the week is Remi, a sweet little female terrier mix puppy. She’s curious and ready to learn how to be a good puppy for someone’s family. She’s current on shots and wormer at 10 weeks old. She will come with a voucher for booster shots, rabies shots and spay. All of that for the reduced adoption fee of only $75 in the month of March! Email [email protected] or call 936-878-2349 to find out how you can adopt Remi. If you’d like to see who else is waiting for a forever home check out our website www.t-bar.org
Thank you Deputy Hale!
Austin County Deputy Nathan Hale saw these horses starving and immediately pulled them and brought them to safety. They went to court and had them awarded to rescue to guarantee their safety. They are now in foster homes, gaining weight and getting vet and farrier care. We cannot thank Austin County enough for caring about animals and working toward putting an end to abuse and neglect in their county.
Pet of the Week: Roman (dog)
Today’s pet of the week is Roman. This lab / great dane mix is a big boy at 82 pounds but he’s well behaved and learns very quickly. He walks pretty well on lead. He has learned to sit, working on stay, shake paws, crawl and is easy to feed. He is a fun/goofy boy that doesn’t play well with other dogs. He’d be a great companion and guard dog in a single pet family. Email [email protected] or call 936-878-2349 if you’d like to meet and possibly adopt Roman.
Success Story: Harry (horse)
This beautiful Bay Thoroughbred named Harry has been adopted! This is his first day with his new pasture mate and it looks like they already like each other. His adoption family confirmed that he is getting along and the two have become best friends. Would you like to adopt a horse? Take a look at our web site and email or call for more information: [email protected] or 936-878-2349. We have several horses that are ridable. All they need is you!
Adopt Me! Winston
Winston was found on the streets broken and beaten. Lucky for him he ended up with a foster Mom who is also a nurse. She helped him become physically and mentally healthy and ready for a new home. She was fine with fostering him and loving him until his perfect owner came along but then her health declined and she’s not sure how long she can keep him. Please read what she wrote about Winston and share till his forever home is found. Email [email protected] to adopt Winston
Winston is a definite old soul but loves to chew, gnaw, sun bathe and chase his toys around. He also loves his clothes (sweaters, T shirts, and jerseys) and don’t try to take his collar with tags off, he freaks out. He surely knows how to entertain himself as well. He loves to cuddle, go on walks, car rides and hog any bed.
He absolutely LOVES people. He doesn’t particularly feel safe with other dogs yet but has made long strides with this process. I remove all food, toys/ bones and his lock his crate when other dogs are around to ensure he feels comfortable and not insecure due to his past. He is not good with cats, since he chases them out of my yard. He is a protector for sure, especially within the house and yard.
He will be the perfect home protector and companion with any person that is seeking a single companion or one animal home.
I have had Winston since February 2015. He is up to date on shots, heart worm negative and has been altered. Please note that he loves children however I would say that he would probably be better off with pre teens and older since he does enjoy to play tug of war with his rope toys.
The perfect parent for this fur baby will receive all of his clothing, crate, bowls, portable water bowl for walks, toys, bones, both his beds and food once he is adopted to ease the transition of his FUREVER parent(s) or family.
