Cartier is a beautiful 3 year old sorrel mare. She was born healthy two months after seizure of 27 badly malnourished horses, including some pregnant mares. Cartier is the spitting image of her mom. She has been started under saddle and is the perfect age to receive further training to reach her true potential in her forever home. At this age she can be easily trained for any type of riding someone would want. Email [email protected] for more information. Please share till Cartier finds a home!
Today’s foster feature is Gina. She was next to be euthanized at the Brenham Shelter so the manager there asked if we could network her to find her a home. We sent out the picture of her in the kennel and although True Blue Animal Rescue foster homes are all full they came up with a plan to save this beautiful yellow lab. They contacted Kathryn Kwiatkowski of K’s Mutt Hut in Brenham and asked her to help. She offered a discounted boarding fee just to cover her care. Kathryn runs a wonderful boarding facility in Brenham, but she’s a rescuer through and through. She’s always rescuing animals and can’t look away when asked to help. The members of True Blue Animal Rescue chipped in to cover her board for several weeks. This will allow time to get her vetted and up for adoption.
If you or someone you know would like to adopt this sweet girl, please share or email us at [email protected]. Please help buy Gina another day by paying for a day of board. Go to t-bar.org and make a $10 paypal donation with a note to let us know it’s for Gina.
Thank you to all the wonderful people who donated enough to get her out of the shelter and a great big thank you to Kathryn of K’s Mutt Huthttps://www.facebook.com/kmutthut for taking care of her and giving her a chance!
Do you or someone you know need to get a cat or dog neutered? Book your appointment a the Animal Friends of Washington County clinic and pay only $20 for the procedure in February! Call 979-277-0400 or visit AFVET.org to book early and take advantage of this great deal. Ensuring pets are fixed is the best way to decrease the number of unwanted pets that end up in shelters and euthanized daily.
For the more expensive procedure of spaying female dogs or cats, TBAR can offer financial assistance. Contact [email protected] or call 936-878-2349 for more information!
A little bit of cute for this pet of the week. Penny is a one-year-old brindle dachshund mix. She is the sweetest girl! She loves affection and enjoys snuggling, but she’s also satisfied with giving you your space. She is now available for adoption.
T-BAR is a no-kill rescue. Not only do we like having our animals adopted out, we also are in dire need of foster homes. That way we can help more animals out there, especially with winter here. Please save a life by adopting a pet, instead of buying a pet and please have all your pets spayed and neutered. It is the right thing to do. If you are interested on where you can help or to look at all that is availble to either adopt or foster, please email [email protected]
Mark your calendar for our Annual chili cookoff sponsored by Independence Harley Davidson. This event it a lot of fun! Lots of chili to eat, BBQ sandwiches, animals on site and an area for kids.
We are still looking for vendors (free spaces) more chili cookers, and we welcome other rescues to set up an adoption day for them! Please contact if you’d like to participate: [email protected] or 936-878-234
Happy New Year from the Hodde Family and True Blue Animal Rescue!
The Hodde’s pets are all rescues. They shared their super cute Texas Christmas picture so we could see how well Buddy (aka, Butch), the tan dog on the left, is doing. Buddy was adopted from True Blue Animal Rescue several years ago, and as you can see, he’s happy and loved in his new family.
You can help us make 2015 a great year by donating, fostering, or adopting!
Eddie is our Merry Christmas Throwback Thursday. Eddie came to True Blue Animal Rescue when he was one week old. He was bottle fed and cared for in a foster home and then adopted into a wonderful family. Here he is with his family for Christmas. He was bigger than what they were looking for but they gave him a chance anyway and he turned out to be perfect for their family.
With the help of Eddie and his new family we wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
