Event Recap: Carnival in the Park 2015

True-Blue-Animal-Rescue-Carnival-2015Brenham’s Carnival in the Park was a huge success again this year! This really great community event was held on May 9th between Animal Friends of Washington Co Clinic and the Dog Park on Hwy 36.True

Several Rescue organizations, Brenham’s city shelter and several other local businesses were there to enjoy the fun. It was a great opportunity to walk your dog and meet and chat with people in Washington County.

True Blue Animal Rescue had some pets there for adoption, Tshirts for sale, face painting, balloon animals, bubbles and hoppy ponies for the kids to play on. This is just a small sample of all the fun we had!

Happy Tails: Watson

True-Blue-Animal-Rescue-Watson-Happy-TailHere is a Throwback Thursday Happy Tail of Watson the dog. He had wandered up on someone’s porch when he was near death, and that person networked him on Facebook to find someone who could take him in. Luckily, Kris Broussard agreed to foster and (being a nurse) she was able to clean his wounds and get him started on the road to recovery that night. Thanks to those who donated he is now fully vetted, healthy and ready for adoption! What a difference some love, good food and vet care can make!

Success Story: Mocha

True-Blue-Animal-Rescue-Adopted-MochaMocha is the last of Hope’s puppies. Everyone loves a puppy so a lot of people got to pet her and spend time with her but when her foster family took her camping, but Rod and Lisa met her they fell in love! Lucky for Mocha they decided to adopt and took this sweet little girl home from the campground. Here’s some pictures of this sweet girl with her family!

Pet of the Week: Opal

opal3Did I just hear what you said? Did you say you want a dog? Well, here is bargain for you, a Pet of the week, Opal. Opal is an adult medium sized spayed Terrier/Labrador Retriver. She is very friendly and lovable. She likes to run and play as much as she loves to be scratched and cuddled. She walks well on a leash and gets along with other dogs. She’d make a perfect pet for any family!

T-BAR is a no-kill rescue. Not only do we like having our animals adopted out, we also are in dire need of foster homes. That way we can help more animals out there, who are in perilous times alone on the streets. Please save a life by adopting a pet, instead of buying a pet and please have all your pets spayed and neutered. It is the right thing to do. If you are interested on where you can help or to look at all that is available to either adopt or foster, please go to www.t-bar.org and see all the animals that deserve a second chance and fulfilled life full of love, email [email protected] or call (936)878-2349 and one of our volunteers will get back to you as soon as possible. Adoption Fee: Please email[email protected] for adoption fee! Adoption fee includes neuter or spay, up to date vaccinations, heartworm tested if old enough or started on heartworm prevention as a puppy, deworming and a one year TBAR membership.

Happy Tails: Teddy and Ana

True-Blue-Animal-Rescue-Happy-Tails-AnnaToday’s “Happy Tails” is both Ana and Teddy! They were both in foster homes that fell in love with them and decided to adopt!! Hooray for Teddy and Ana! They will be staying right where they are forever! We LOVE foster failures 😉

Happy Tails: Savannah

True-Blue-Animal-Rescue-TBT-Savannah-2015Throwback Thursday Happy Tails! We received this wonderful update from a past adopter, with an update on the dog she adopted from TBAR!

Hi All,

Below are pictures of our puppy Savannah (she was originally named Delilah), we got her from TBar in February 2010.  We first saw her at one of your adoption events at Petsmart in College Station.

The first picture is Savannah with my husband Mike at Teresa’s place where we went to see her a second time before officially adopting.  In two of the pictures she is with her brother we got from animal control in 2012.

They are both wild and crazy and so much fun but Savannah is also the sweetest little girl you will meet.  I call her my little girl, she is 85lbs, she’s been such a sweetheart and blessing to our family.

Thank you for all you do!!  I couldn’t image our lives without Savannah 🙂

Lacey Burey

Thank you for the update, Lacey! We love updates on the pets that were adopted from us! Seeing them so happy in their new life gives us the motivation to keep saving more and more!

If anyone else would like to share their success story, please email photos and updates to [email protected]

Success Story: Mocha / Reese

True-Blue-Animal-Rescue-Success-Story-Dog-Reese-MochaSuccess story Wednesday! Here is Mocha, one of the last of Hope’s puppies. Mocha was adopted by a couple that came all the way from Austin to adopt her. They changed her name to Reece, which is very fitting! Just look at cute little Reece in her new home! Lucky puppy and lucky family!

Congrats on your new forever family Reece! And thank you to her new owners for opening their hearts and homes to adopt a new family member!

Pet of the Week: Apollo

True-Blue-Animal-Rescue-Pet-of-The-Week-Husky-ApolloPet of the week this week is a beautiful young male Husky named Apollo who will be a medium-sized dog. At this time he weighs about 40-45 pounds. Apollo is a wonderful dog that loves people and gets along great with other animals including cats. He loves to ride in the car, walks well on a leash and is housebroken and crate trained. Young dogs like this do not come around too often. Someone is going to be very lucky to get him. Husky’s are active dogs, but Apollo is not too active, but it would be wise to go to a home with a good sturdy fence, just to keep him safe.
