Anya, Lila, Lana and Nikolai
Anya, Lila, Lana and Nikolai were dumped on a back road in Anderson, TX and were lucky enough to be found by a TBAR foster home. They lived for one wonderful month in a loving foster home after testing positive for FeLv but not showing symptoms yet. A confirmatory lab test had been sent to New Jersey before they began to show symptoms. Once the symptoms set in, their quality of life went downhill quickly so their foster mom agreed with the vet that it was time to help them cross over the Rainbow Bridge peacefully.

Blanca
Blanca came into TBAR very skinny, but was rehabbed and found love and TLC until she passed from old age
Chester
Chester was found by a TBar member, running along a busy street. He was emaciated and seemed to have been hit by a car. Chester enjoyed love, running free in a safe backyard and lots of food while awaiting amputation of his nerve-damaged leg. Unfortunately, he died during amputation surgery. RIP Chester.
Omega
The last horse rescued from a 57 horse seizure, Omega touched every person who met him. He was a majestic, noble creature and has left indelible hoof prints on everyone who loved him. Omega was lost to colic-twist in June.
Tripp
Tripp came to TBAR dragging a chain with a collar way too tight and heartworm positive. He healed beautifully and was loved deeply by his foster home. After only 1 short year, he left this Earth suddenly & unexpectedly. His good nature and love of life touched many people. RIP Tripp!
Warrior
Warrior came into TBAR so skinny, but grew into a beautiful, white Arabian. He was loved dearly by many and left this world too soon from a sudden illness.
Licorice was seized along with 19 pasture mates when his owner could no longer care for him. Like his pasture mates Licorice, or Proud Pusher, was thin but he also had a severe case of Uveitis or Moon Blindness. This condition caused him pain and the only solution would have been to remove his eyes leaving him completely blind. We decided that was not a quality life for this magnificent horse so we helped him cross the rainbow bridge. We will always remember him in this lush pasture eating to his hearts content before it was time to cross. He is now at peace with his father The Pusher CG

This little donkey was one of 19 that were removed from their owner because she could no longer care for them. His little body was all bones and his mother was dried and unable to provide him proper nutrition either. We fed him milk and feed in an attempt to get him to gain weight and recover. In a final attempt to save his life the vet tubed milk into him but he continued to decline and eventually passed away. This picture was taken while he still had the strength to stand and we’ll always remember him enjoying some grass and some peace before he crossed the rainbow bridge.

Boo Boo was rescued along with 15 other mini donkeys when the Sheriff’s department found them wandering the streets. Shortly after arriving at her True Blue Animal Rescue foster home, she gave birth to a baby girl named Band Aid (Spring 2010). By nature, mini donks are sweet, gentle, playful, and love human attention. They are easy keepers, get along with other animals, and are fun to have around. They would love to be adopted together if possible. She is used to being handled and being led with halter or rope.
Buffy was found estray and when no owner came forward she was awarded to T-Bar. Buffy is a young horse who is halter-broke and aready to train.
Beautiful young paint filly from seizure of 27 badly malnourished horses including pregnant mares in Wood County.
Cappuccino is enjoying being ridden by his foster family including the children. He does great on trails and is an all-around great horse.
TBAR was awarded 15 neglected Tennessee Walkers on 2/27/2012. Foster homes are needed to rehabilitate these horses and/or adoptive homes. All the horses are easy to handle and respectful.
One of 8 neglected horses awarded to True Blue Animal Rescue by Burnett County judge. This mare lost one eye at some time, but is totally healthy.
When Dreamcatcher first came to TBAR he was so skinny his knees wobbled. Currently, DreamCatcher’s foster home reports that he has put on ALOT of weight, and that his top line has filled out nicely. He has a bit of a “hay belly” and no chest or butt yet, but nothing a little more exercise can’t cure. He leads well, is good for the farrier, and is doing well lunging in the round pen. He also enjoys a good bath, and loves attention. We haven’t tied him yet, we realized today, but we will try it out. He is still a little wary around strangers at first, but warms up quickly. We plan to pony him a little this weekend, see how he does with a group, in a new setting and how his feet hold up. They appear to be good and hard, but his heels were short and are growing out now.
Gypsy was an estray and when no owner claimed her, she was awarded to TBAR. She is now healthy and ready for adoption. Gypsy was ridden previously and just needs a refresher.
Hemmingway was wandering estray in a neighborhood and was extremely skinny. The authorities looked for an owner and when no one came forth to claim him, TBAR was awarded Hemmingway. This older, 25 yr old horse is skin and bones but has already put on weight in his short time with TBar. Slowly and surely, Hemmingway will be restored to full health. His long white mane goes down to his shoulder and he has a wonderful, engaging personality. He loves cookies!
Katy is a full Medicine Hat Paint with two blue eyes. Her foster home reports that she is very calm and rides well. She loves to be groomed and deserves a special rider who will keep a fly mask on her during the day light hour.
Layla is now available for adoption, as her foal Magic has been weaned.
Legend
This mare is young, around 5-6 yrs old , rideable

Pricilla had a broken front leg just over a year ago. Her leg was not set and is slightly crooked. She is a companion only, although she runs and plays in the pasture without any difficulty. She is timid with other horses and is fine with dogs, cats, donkeys and goats. She is great with people and loves kids.

TBAR was awarded 15 neglected Tennessee Walkers on 2/27/2012. Foster homes are needed to rehabilitate these horses and/or adoptive homes. All the horses are easy to handle and respectful. These photos do not accurately reflect the actual body condition of the horses – they are all skinnier. Accepting applications for foster/adopt NOW. Go to
Steve was seized as a 4 year old stallion in late 2006 – at the time he was wild and untouched. At his first (and only) foster home he was gentled, castrated, and put into ground-work training – a couple months later he was started under saddle at a Ray Hunt clinic, and went on to be a great versatile trail mount, winning 2 competitive trail competitions in 2007. The rider went on to interests outside of trail riding with other horses, and Steve has basically been turned out on pasture for the past 3 years. He has excellent ground manners, wonderful feet (never worn shoes), is an exceptionally “easy keeper” (never fed grain, and always fat) – he has a stocky build, very correct conformation, and good bones – he has never had a lameness issue and held up to heavy daily riding. He is a fast learner and quick to please. The next home for Steve requires a handler/rider that is smart, consistent, and capable.
Terra was awarded to TBAR in a neglect/cruelty case. She has put on significant weight and is now ready to be adopted as a companion animal. She is a sweet mare that would look beautiful in your pasture. She would be a perfect companion for a young family or older person.
Twilight was awarded to TBAR as part of the Wood County seizure and resulting court case. He is rideable and would make a nice riding horse for a woman or small man, as he’s short and stout.
Wood Co. Wendy
Wood Co mare # 3 is a 10 yr old mare has a paint stud colt baby.
This mare is blind in one eye. She has a new, sorrel stud colt baby, born after her rescue.
Emu’s mother was seized in the Wood County neglect case. She was starved, but giving everything she had to her baby. Two months of good food & care later, a healthy baby boy was born! Emu and his mom have been adopted by their foster family. They will never know hunger again!
